Nichols Hints At Alias' Finale

 Rachel Nichols, who plays new spy Rachel Gibson on ABC's Alias, let slip to SCI FI Wire that several familiar faces will return before the popular show ends its five-year run this spring. "I think avid fans will be pleased to know that many of their favorite characters will be coming back. Many of them," Nichols said in an interview at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif., over the weekend. When pressed, Nichols revealed that returning characters could include Bradley Cooper's Will Tippin, Merrin Dungey's Allison/Francie and Lena Olin's Irina Derevko.
"[Cooper's] also about to do a play in New York with Julia Roberts [Three Days of Rain], so everybody's really happy for him," Nichols said. ... Read More ...

 In an interview early in the season, "Alias" star Rachel Nichols, who plays neophyte agent Rachel Gibson, protege of pregnant CIA superspy Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner), said, "I hope they bring Sark back because, hey, who doesn't like a little David Anders?"

ABC's 'Alias' to end run after 5 years

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Alias," the ABC espionage drama starring
Jennifer Garner as a sexy, globe-trotting secret agent, will end its prime-time run in May after five seasons on the air, the network said on Wednesday.
No reason was given for bringing the series to a close, but the show has declined sharply in the ratings since moving to a tougher time slot on Thursdays this season opposite the CBS reality hit "Survivor: Guatemala."
"Alias" also has undergone a creative make-over this season as producers wrote the real-life pregnancy of Garner into the show's story line. ... Read More ...

For Rachel Gibson, the quiet bureaucrat on "Alias," life suddenly turned inside-out.
She learned she wasn't working for the good guys, after all. She became a double agent, spying on her own colleagues. Now she's immersed in the deadly spy world.
"I can't imagine what it would be like to have your life ripped away from you like that," says Rachel Nichols, 25, the actress who plays Rachel.

Although she has yet to give birth, pregnant superspy Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) on ABC's espionage romp "Alias" must be feeling like a proud mama in "Solo," the episode airing Thursday, Nov. 10. Rachel Gibson (Rachel Nichols), a young agent that Sydney has been mentoring since her rescue from an evil, faux-CIA organization (a parallel to Sydney's own history), is going out on her first spy mission on her own.

Rookies face tough Alias assignment

Joining a popular TV show midstream is one thing. But Elodie Bouchez and Rachel Nichols have come into a show with a rabid cult following that has produced countless gigabytes of Internet chatter. And the beloved heroine passing the baton has been the subject of swirling media scrutiny since her fairy-tale wedding to and impending child with a Hollywood leading man. No pressure.
